Joel has a passion for Osteopathy that began after seeing the benefit his family and friends gained from Osteopathic treatment. This saw Joel undertake a double degree in Health Science/Osteopathy at RMIT University in Melbourne. Joel prides himself on providing a treatment that is tailored to the patient, treating the primary issue, whist also looking at the underlying causes of the issue. Joel has several areas of interest in Osteopathic treatment and enjoys enabling individuals to get back to their desired lifestyle prior to their injury. To expand his Osteopathic knowledge, Joel has also completed further studies in cupping, dry needling, effective manipulation and strength and conditioning techniques to prevent injury.
During his studies, Joel worked as a trainer at a local AFL club to gain further experience in the prevention, treatment and management of sporting injuries. He also has worked closely with aspiring junior swimmers in injury treatment and prevention.
To further his Osteopathic knowledge, Joel volunteered to treat post-surgical patients in India where he gained great insight into world class medical treatments. He observed several procedures such as ACL and PCL reconstructions, whilst working alongside shoulder surgeons, physiotherapists, radiologists and sports doctors.
Outside of Osteopathy, Joel was a state level volleyball player and enjoys AFL. He likes to keep fit through running and swimming and loves escaping to the beach or major sporting events whenever time permits.
