After working with Children for the better part of 15 years and specialising in physical, mental and intellectual disabilities and special needs inc behavioural issues, hyperactivity and children on the autism spectrum, Mel has decided to follow her passion of helping people and broaden her studies to include massage therapies.
Remedial Massage, Remedial Massage with Aromatherapy Oils, Swedish Massage, Hot Stones, Pregnancy, Children’s Massage & Reiki are some of the services Mel provides.
Mel brings an enthusiastic energy as well as a holistic approach with her ultimate goal to provide the most supportive and therapeutic experience to her clients. Her treatments cater for all patients from all walks of life, whether you are 8 or 80 years old.
Mel has a real desire to make a difference for you and your family. She would love to continue her passion of working with children in a calming environment by providing massage and aromatherapy as they have so many benefits for children.
Some of the best reasons to introduce massage to your children are;
The reduction of stress hormones, easing of anxiety which can in turn boost the immune system, improved sleep, stimulation of cognitive and motor development, releasing growth hormone in premature children to help muscles develop and grow and of course massage eases tension and pain.
Whether you are looking for a deep tissue massage with strong pressure, or a soft gentle relaxing massage for your baby, Mel’s knowledge of massage therapies and of children, along with her commitment to work with you to achieve your desired result will have you feeling better in no time.
Mel feels very strongly about working together with other therapist & practitioners at Northside Therapies, sharing knowledge & skills, not only for the therapists to continue to grow & learn but also for the complete wellness of all our patients as well.
Mel has completed a Certificate IV in massage therapies at Q Academy on the Sunshine Coast and will be finished the Diploma in Remedial Massage in August 2018.
