Hello my name is Michelle Wells and I graduated as an Osteopath from Unitec in Auckland in 2008. During the first year in practice my work focused upon the cranial techniques of Osteopathy.

I now practice osteopathy using a variety of techniques including muscle energy, soft tissue, joint, nerve and visceral mobilization, myofascial release, strain counterstrain, sustained neural apophyseal glide, cranial, biodynamics, balanced ligamentous tension, applied kinesiology and functional.

I pride myself in excellence and love helping all individuals, however my passion is treating Mums and Bubs. I have found that the ‘integrative medicine’ approach is most effective for the safe and effective return of health and wellbeing. The focus is collaborative in terms of working as a team together with each individual and working in conjunction with the individuals other health care professionals. All treatments are specifically tailored for the needs of each individual. Many report an immediate improvement and the team approach reduces the number of treatments required to a minimum.

I am constantly undertaking postgraduate study to expand my knowledge and teach where needed. As part of my continuing professional development I have undertake studies in Biodynamics, paediatrics and obstetrics.  Obstetric care involves the osteopathic care during and after a women’s pregnancy.

I am also a qualified radiographer and have had yoga teacher training. In addition to my osteopathic training my previous studies assist me in making clinical decisions, design appropriate management plans and work within an evidence based framework.

My passion for children has lead me to become involved in the set up of a ‘Children’s Clinic’ here in Brisbane. This will be a free clinic for children to receive individual osteopathic treatment once a month.
